The Lady Trojans had a busy week this past week with three games in five days. The team knew going into the week that they had a good opportunity to make an impression in our conference and the ability to improve self confidence.
The week started out with a home loss to Riverside-Brookfield 45-41. This was a tough game to swallow as the Lady Trojans lead nearly the entire game, but in the end, missed lay-ups, free throws and open shots did not fall for TC. Sara Hodges led the team in scoring with 13 points.
On Friday night, Timothy traveled to Elmwood Park and was able to pull out a comfortable 47-30 victory. The Lady Trojans displayed some good ball movement, clutch shooting and some overall good defense. Timothy was led by Stephanie Kuiper's 14 points.
Then, just yesterday, TC suffered another frustrating loss to Chicago Christian 38-34. After trailing by 7 points at the half, Timothy used a 10-2 third quarter to take the lead and carry the lead into the final minutes of the game. However, a similar tune as it was in the R-B game, with missed lay-ups, missed shots and this time, not coming up with a defensive rebound when needed, proved to be the downfall.
The week ended in a 1-2 record, but it showed the team that they are ready to take the next step in pulling out close games. With valuable learning experiences behind them, the Lady Trojans look forward to another busy week where they can show their resolve.
Thank you fans for your support, especially on the road. It was and is greatly appreciated.
