Please make a note that the game at Fenton on 11/30 has had a time change. The Varsity game will now start at 7:00pm.

Practice Change Tomorrow 11/20/10

Hi everyone,

Please make note that tomorrow's practice will be in the morning at 6:15 instead of right after school. I have a conflict after school (closing on my house) that I cannot afford to miss. I hope this does not present a major problem.

Also, on Monday at 3:30 we are going to have our team picture. Please bring your red jersey tops with black warm-up pants. We are having our picture on Monday because of two main reasons. One, Anna will be leaving for California on Tuesday after school and I will be closing on my new house that afternoon as well. We will also be taking head shots of each player for media purposes.

Lady Trojans take 2nd

It seems to be a little bit of a broken record because for the third straight year Timothy takes home the 2nd place trophy. Unable to muster enough offense coupled with some bad defense, the Rocks from Rock Island cruised to an easy victory 56-29. It's unfortunate to come up short again, but the team looks forward to learning a lot about themselves in this early part of the season. We strive to get better and this humbling defeat will make us better and tougher as the season progresses. Cassidy Block led the way with 11 points, 9 rebounds and 4 steals. Renata Harris contributed 5 points and 4 rebounds off the bench. The Lady Trojans will go back to work with quite a few days off before their next game. Timothy will be back in action on the 30th of November vs. Fenton High School.

Thanks again to everyone who made the trip out this afternoon to support the Lady Trojans. We even had a fan fly all the way from California to support the team and see her daughter of course (thanks Mrs. Wondergem). Have a Great Weekend!

Lady Trojans Post Victory

The team traveled out to IMSA once again this evening to continue it's play in the Hoop Happenings Tournament hosted by Illinois Math and Science Academy. The Lady Trojans played the home school tonight and were able to pressure the Titans to a comfortable 54-23 win. It was another total team effort and many girls saw playing time and contributed throughout. Cassidy Block led the night with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 steals. Kari LeGrand displayed a great shooting touch by knocking down 4 out of 6 attempts and tallying a total of 11 points, 5 assists and 6 steals. Tessa Bosman also had a solid all around game with 8 points, 6 rebounds and 5 steals. Other highlights on the night included Ciara Hoddenbach scoring 4 points, Amber Scheidt with 4 points and Anna Wondergem also dropping in 4 points. Jordyn Platt had 4 steals and a great defensive game, while Shely Ditchfield handed out 5 assists.

The Lady Trojans now play for the championship tomorrow afternoon at 1:30pm. Thanks again for all the support and it was great to see a student section!!! Keep coming out and supporting these wonderful girls!

Nov. 22, Practice Time Change

Please change your practice schedule on November 22 from the listed 3:10-4:45 to 4:00-6:30. We are back to our original time on Monday's in which we will have devo's at 4:00, then practice from 4:50-6:30.

Opening Night.....Win

The Lady Trojans kicked off their season tonight with a commanding 60-15 win over Earlville. A combination of a full court press and good ball pressure in the half court led to many easy baskets for the Lady Trojans this evening. You sometimes wonder what to expect on an opening night and give credit to the girls for playing hard and making the game fun and easy. A lot of individuals helped the team this evening and leading the way was Tessa Bosman and Cassidy Block with 10 points apiece. Tessa also took a team high 8 rebounds in her first Varsity game. Other contributors were Jordyn Platt, Shelly Ditchfield and Stephanie Kuiper with 8 points apiece. As you can see, a great balance attack from a lot of different girls. Kari LeGrand chipped in 6 points and 4 assists while younger sister Kelli dropped in 4 points in her first Varsity action. Rounding out the night: Jessica Dirkse 3 rebounds 2 assists, Renata Harris 4 points, Anna Wondergem 2 steals, Jenna Lodewyk 2 points and Amber Scheidt with 2 rebounds.

The Lady Trojans now play on Friday at 5:30pm vs. host school Illinois Math and Science Academy. Thanks to the fans that came out tonight and supported the team. Hope to see you out there again on Friday!!

Remember on Monday at devotions will we will be discussing teams goals and selecting captains for the year. There is a great section in your handbook about goal setting, so take a look at that when you are putting together your individual goals.

Also, I need to know your shirt size and what you want from the spirit wear stuff that I sent home to you awhile back. I would like to order the stuff this week.

Parent Meeting

There will be a parent meeting on Monday, the 15th, at 6:30pm. All parents should report to the cafeteria first, then respective levels will separate and hold individual meetings. Please make every effort to attend this meeting.

I just wanted to draw your attention to supporting the Girls Basketball Program this year by purchasing a t-shirt, a hoodie or both! Your daughter will be coming home with an order form as to the specifics regarding this matter. All shirts and hoodies will be in black with the following logo on the front:

Off and Running

The season officially started today and the girls are off to a great start. It was good to see everyone working hard, pushing themselves and encouraging one another. The coaching staff looks forward to the season at hand and what the Lord has in store for us. May we all look to embrace the journey that the Lord has already planned.
